    Our team at Athens Ice Sirens is made of up to 22 hockey players and enthusiasts. We are passionate about the sport and dedicated to helping our players get the coaching and experience needed to take them to the next level.

    2025-2026 Season

    Teams

    This year we will have a girls 16u and19u team that will participate in the Southern Girls Hockey League (SGHL). Tryouts are currently on going for both teams. Sign up for the next session below. Once on the team, Athens Ice Sirens players can also opt into a combined 16 & 19u tournament team that will play in the Central Girls Hockey League (CGHL).

      Since the Athens rink is not operational until late septemeber we have our tryouts and initial practices at Center Ice Arena in Atlanta  Address: 5750 Roswell Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30342.  It's a great facility and as Ice time is at a premium in the south we are thankful we were able to get 4 hours of ice time at an amazing rink. 

      Athens ice sirens play in the SGHL (Southern Girls Hockey League). The Schedule  for travel is as follows:


      • September 12-14 in Jacksonville, FL
      • October 17-19 in Clearwater, FL
      • November 28-30 in Orlando, FL
      • January 2-4 in Charleston, SC
      • February 6-8 in Jacksonville, FL


      Athens Ice Sirens will also have an opportunity in the CGHL (Girls can opt in for one or both leagues additional fee would apply).  The scheduled weekends for CGHL are as follows:


      • October 10-12th, Cincinnati, OH- Queen City Sportsplex
      • November 14-16th, Louisville, KY- Iceland Sports Complex
      • December 19-21st, St. Louis, MO- Centene Community Ice Center
      • January 9-11th, *Indianapolis, IN, Rink details to be finalized
      • January 30- February 1st, CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND, Oxford, OH- Miami of OH

      Yes, the SGHL does a mixer event that allows all girls to play with girls and coaches they normally don't play for.  Details and signup can be found here  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSenx4dVhd9-mEsix5S4q_PpDNmOGjVz8wqetO2bd4TwMIRqiw/viewform

      The most important things we look for in a player are coachability and attitude.

      For tryouts we ask that you bring a light and dark colored jersey with a number on it.  Upon checkin we will assign light or dark color.
